Twas’ the night before Christmas
and all through the ward
not a patient was stirring
Oh thank you dear Lord
IVs were hung with
the greatest of care
in hopes that a nurse
soon would be there
Patients were nestled
all snug in their beds,
while visions of real food
danced in their heads
Me in my scrubs
charts on my lap
would sell my soul
for a power nap
